Patriot Sprint Tour Returning May 25th
MALTA – What could be more American than baseball, hot dogs and apple pie?
How about sprint car racing on Memorial Day weekend?
The holiday tradition will continue at historic Albany-Saratoga Speedway when the A-Verdi Storage Containers Patriot Sprint Tour makes a stop in Malta on Friday, May 25.
The Patriot Sprint Tour has been plagued by rain during the first month of the season, and the drivers are itching for some flat-out competition. The only full race of the Tour so far has been at Canandaigua Motorsports Park, where Jason Barney took the checkered flag. The Tour was rained out at Woodhull, leading to the highly anticipated stop at Albany-Saratoga Speedway.
In addition to Barney, the field will include two-time defending champion Jared Zimbardi and Chuck “The Cobra” Hebing, the winningest driver in the history of the tour with 45 victories.
The addition of the Patriot Sprint Tour will force a change in the racing card on May 25. The sprint cars and modifieds will be running heats, but all other divisions in action will be running features only.
General admission on May 25 will be $16 for adults, with kids 11 and under admitted for $2. Racing will begin at 7 p.m.
