BIG SHOW VII SHAPING UP TO BE BETTER THAN EVER
Brett Hearn’s Promotion A Must See During Albany-Saratoga 50 Year Celebration
February 4, 2015 (Vernon, NJ) – When eight-time Modified Super DIRTcar Series Champion Brett Hearn was just seven years old the Albany-Saratoga Speedway opened its doors for full time racing at the famed 3/8-mile oval. Since then the ‘Jet’ has compiled a hall of fame statistical record that includes becoming the all-time winningest driver in Malta history. So it’s fitting that Hearn will help his Friday night home track in celebrating 50 years this season with his very own big show at the great race place.
Big Show VII is set to hit the track July 7, 2015 at Albany-Saratoga, as part of the speedway’s 50th anniversary of racing. Professional Modified driver Brett Hearn combines competitor with promoter for the Big Show, and he has vowed to make this year’s event the biggest and best effort yet. Planning is well under way to make Big Show VII a smashing success, which began with a chat between old Grand National racing friends.
Brett Hearn and Kenny Wallace met while racing Grand National cars together. The personable pair have remained friends keeping in touch, while sharing a passion for dirt track racing. Wallace is known for the entertainment he provides during the NASCAR season as an analyst, but when the camera goes off, the fire suit goes on, and Herm can be found strapped into his IMCA Modified slinging clay at a local dirt track.
“I called Kenny and asked him if he’d be interested in coming to the Big Show. I offered him the opportunity to come and hang out, be his entertaining self, or compete if he would like. He said he would love to come and hands down he wanted to race,” said Big Show Promoter Brett Hearn.
Kenny Wallace is no stranger to the Northeast Dirt Modified racecar, as he’s previously competed at Humberstone Speedway and Virginia Motor Speedway when the Super DIRTcar Series visited. When Wallace gets to the great race place for Big Show VII he won’t be in just any race rod, as the flamboyant racing personality has options with first class rides. What Big Block Modified he’ll strap into has yet to be decided, however when he does, it will be to mix it up with the best DIRTcar has to offer.
“Honestly Kenny brings excitement. He’s very entertaining and he’s a real grass roots racer. It will be exciting for the fans that attend and drivers of our sport alike,” continued Hearn.
When Kenny Wallace hits the track he’ll have his hands full, as the Super DIRTcar Series field shaping up for 2015 is looking very strong. Billy Decker, Matt Sheppard, Brett Hearn, Jimmy Phelps, and Justin Haers get the party started, as they finished top five last season. Add young guns Larry Wight and Eric Rudolph to the mix with a dash of Australian Peter Britten and you have a healthy mix of patience, aggression, and youth.
Now toss in names that are either joining or returning to the Super DIRTcar Series full time in 2015 such as Tim Fuller, Vic Coffey, and Stewart Friesen and you have what Big Show promoter Brett Hearn feels is the some of the best in the business traveling with the premiere Modified series in the Northeast.
“We feel very strongly that the Super DIRTcar Series always has been and still is the premiere series for dirt Northeast Modifieds. It enhances the appeal of the Big Show, which we look forward to again this year,” concluded Brett ‘the jet’ Hearn.
There have been six big shows to date, with this year’s event being the 4th one at Albany-Saratoga. Billy Decker is the only repeat winner in event history winning Big Show I and Big Show III. No driver has ever finished top five in all six Big Show events, which shows just how stiff the competition is at the Brett Hearn promotion. Big Show VII will prove to be even tougher when the mid summer classic rolls around.
Big Show VII is scheduled for July 7, 2015 as part of the 50th anniversary of the great race place. Inviting NASCAR personality Kenny Wallace to duke it out with icons of the Super DIRTcar Series is just the start of what promoter Brett Hearn promises to be the best Big Show yet. Mark down the date, take a vacation day from work, and come prepared to get your race on. Be part of a Big Show worthy of celebrating 50 years at the historic Albany-Saratoga Speedway.
