Albany-Saratoga and Lebanon Valley Announce Partnership with Race Pro Weekly
Malta, NY – The Albany-Saratoga Speedway and Lebanon Valley Speedway’s have been at the forefront of innovation for decades. Whether it be higher paying events, entertaining promotions or promoting a family atmosphere the two tracks led by Howard Commander and Lyle Devore have always had one thing in mind – doing things that will make our sport stronger.
In continuing with their tradition of ground breaking promotions, the Great Race Place and the Valley of Speed are proud to announce the formation of a marketing partnership between themselves and the Northeast’s leading online news source, Race Pro Weekly.Com.
“I had a meeting with Matt (Noles) and Dave (Dalesandro) from Race Pro Weekly,” Devore said. “We are entering into a marketing relationship and are the first tracks to enter into a relationship of this kind.”
Fans, drivers, crews and media alike will be able to see information regarding all special events at the tracks on the front page of Race Pro Weekly all season long. Banners for each track will have a home on the site’s front page, directing visitors to the tracks’ websites. There will also be updates throughout the season on the websites’ popular Facebook pages.
“We have become marketing partners with Albany-Saratoga and Lebanon Valley,” Race Pro Weekly Senior Editor Matt Noles said. “We will be promoting special events with a banner on the front page and announcements throughout the season on the Facebook page.”
Noles would continue by explaining how and why the relationship came together. “Lyle approached us,” Matt said. “It’s really important for us that he did. There are so many people who go to a promoter with their hand out; we don’t want to be known as one of them. This is not a money making thing for us, we do it as professionally as we can and we are all professional media members, but it’s more of a hobby than anything. We want to inform our readers, fans and followers of special events because we can get it out to them so much faster via the internet with our broad audience.”
The staff at Albany-Saratoga, Lebanon Valley and Race Pro Weekly are all excited about the new, groundbreaking arrangement which will ensure that all track news will reach the dedicated race fans throughout the racing world.
“We are really excited to be able to promote two really historic speedways,” Noles said. “We are doing this to promote the facilities but more importantly to promote the local drivers. Our main purpose is to promote the sport and the drivers. It is such an honor to team up with two very well-known and respected promoters in the racing community such as Howard Commander and Lyle Devore.”
The best way to keep our sport alive is to do everything possible to enable growth. This is something that Race Pro Weekly and the management at both facilities realize. With the new partnership with Race Pro Weekly, the news coming from both facilities will reach a broader section of race fans, media members and potential future marketing partners.
Race Pro Weekly has expanded their coverage to include many different types of motorsports. In doing so, they open up doors for people who normally only look at one form of motorsports. For example, those interested in Dirt Modified racing may not follow the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. At Race Pro Weekly those Dirt Modified fans will be introduced to news and stories from not only the Dirt Modified world but the NASCAR Whelen Modified world and vice versa.
“At Race Pro Weekly we have a mission statement,” Noles said. “The sport and the fans come first, the drivers come second and we are a very distant third. It is not about us and it can’t be. Once we start doing the look at me self-promotion thing it loses all of its purpose. It can’t be about us, it has to be about the sport and what is good for the sport. I think helping local speedways out and especially local drivers, is a step in the right direction for everybody involved.”
