Jimmy Duncan Racing announces new sponsor
Latham, NY (April 11, 2021) – When the No. 771 Street Stock of popular Albany-Saratoga Speedway (Malta, NY) driver Jimmy Duncan takes to the track on opening night there will be a highly recognizable sponsor on the rear quarter panel.
This entire press release could be done without giving the name of the international fast-food chain because the company’s slogan and logo are so well known and iconic in the world of advertising. The only description needed—“it’s finger lickin’ good.”
“I’ll be racing each Friday night at Albany-Saratoga driving a brand new car with brand new everything,” stated Duncan. “I’m really looking forward to this season with Kentucky Fried Chicken on the car and I can’t wait to get the season started and to be actively involved with store owner Brian White promoting his KFC locations.”
Kentucky Fried Chicken of Saratoga Springs (3010 Route 50) and Queensbury (799 US Route 9) will be prominently displayed on the car throughout the season. “I’m looking forward to getting to meet old and new fans and to promote the two KFC locations.” The no. 771 Street Stock, along with driver Jimmy Duncan, will also be involved in several om-site location promotions. Promotional dates will be announced later this season.
Duncan, who began racing in 1989, has been involved in several different classes over the ensuing years—ice racing to 4-Cylinders to Pro Stocks to Sportsman to Street Stocks where he now enjoys racing with his family’s support and his involvement with the speedway. A highlight of recent years has been the involvement of Duncan’s entire family and team in the opening ceremonies for Albany-Saratoga’s Military Night, including a tribute to fallen soldiers of Gold Star Families, which will take place this year on Friday, July 2nd.
Upon learning of Duncan’s new major sponsor, Lyle DeVore, promoter of Albany-Saratoga Speedway remarked, “I find it remarkable a corporate sponsor can be obtained for any class. One would never think you would see KFC on a local race car. This is such a plus for the sport and Jimmy. Congratulations to him for being able to bring them to our forefront every Friday night.”
A track title in the Street Stock division has eluded Duncan in the past few years. In 2019 Duncan scored two wins but finished second in the track points title chase, losing the title by only six points to Al Relyea. That was followed by running a limited number of events in 2020 due to the impact of the pandemic.
Also providing support to the Duncan racing team are long-time sponsors G.A. Bove Fuels, Lussier’s Autobody, Elite Motors, J Duncan & Sons Automotive, JDS Unlimited, DH Grapix and Celtic Cycles.
This year, with the support of family, friends, his long-time sponsors, and his new KFC sponsor, Duncan is ready for a full-out run at the 2021 title. His confidence level is high and the Duncan team is ready for this Friday night, April 16, which is the opening night at Albany-Saratoga Speedway.
