2014 NORTHEAST CRATE NATIONALS RULES PER DIVISION
Crate Sportsman Rules
– DIRTcar Rules in effect with the following exceptions.
– Rev Boxes are not mandatory.
– Modified American Racer or Hoosier tires are permitted. All 4 tires must be same manufacturer. No 49 American Racer Compound. No block pattern tires, no late model tires. MINIMUM American Racer Compounds 33LF, 38RF, 38LR, 48RR. MINIMUM Hoosier Compounds D300.
– Aluminum or Steel wheels are permitted. There is no weight break for Steel wheels.
– Weight is 2400 for ALL Crate Sportsman cars. Track scales are official.
– Henry’s Stainless Steel Exhaust is NOT permitted.
– No Modified drivers. If you have completed 4 or more Modified feature events in 2014 or have a Modified/358 Modified feature win in 2014, you are not eligible to compete in the Northeast Crate Nationals. If you are unsure of your eligibility, contact race officials.
– GM (General Motors) Crate Engine part number 88958602/19258602 is the ONLY crate engines permitted.
– Any steel body non-adjustable shock is legal. No steel adjustable or big body shocks are permitted. No aluminum small or big body shock and/or aluminum adjustable shocks are permitted at all. No aluminum shocks of any kind are legal. No big bulb shocks. Schroeder valves are legal.
Pro Stock Rules
– DIRTcar Pro Stock Rules in effect with the following exceptions.
– Rev Boxes are not mandatory.
– Hoosier tires only and need to be D60 on all 4 corners.
– Weights are 3100 for Open/Home Built Motors and 2900 for GM Crate Engines part number 88958602/19258602.
Street Stock Rules
– All 4 tires must be the same letter and number size. Street DOT tires only, racing tires are not permitted. Maximum size P225, 70 series or higher 14” or 15” diameter. All 4 tires must be the same size and marked number. OEM wheels, or any steel 7” only wheels. 7″ minimum – 8” maximum wide tire permitted. Up to 3 ½” offset steel aftermarket wheels permitted. Wheels and tires must be the same size – ½” allowance on wheel width. NO GROOVING ALLOWED. Stock treads only; No mud, snow, studded, directional or recap tires allowed.
– Weights are 3100 for Open/Home Built Motors and 2900 for GM Crate Engines part number 88958602/19258602.
– No 4BBL carbs permitted per track management. Holley 4412 on crate motors, Rochester carbs on open/home built motors.
– Headers are permitted, but must be 1 5/8” max diameter from flange to collector. NO Tri-Y’s and NO Stepped headers.
– Conventional body styles preferred, but aftermarket nose and hood pieces will be permitted. No wings, sail panels, exotic body styles etc. It’s not a run what you brung.
– Jacking bolts are not permitted. If they are in the car for any reason they must be welded or bolted solid so they are unmovable during the evening.
All rules were created with the best interest of the competitors locally and abroad. They are designed to allow drivers from multiple tracks to compete during the Northeast Crate Nationals. If you have any questions feel free to contact race officials and we’ll get you clarification ASAP.
